Actually it can be a blessing when Biden is unprepared and speaks “off the cuff” (so to speak). If Biden’s remarks were prepared he would have said something like, “I mean, you got the first mainstream blue-skinned aliens who are articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking, … I mean, that’s a storybook, man.” As bad as this response is, the fact that it makes him look like Biden shamelessly makes up whatever response he needs to make up to fit the moment. It could have been much worse.

It’s funny because he’s obviously lying, but it’s not a big deal. He could have easily said, “well, I’ve been too busy to watch movies this year, so I’m not sure.” But instead he makes up this huge story based on only the scant information he remembers.
